Melanie Kimmel is truly passionate about the caregiving services and standards of My Daughter Is In Town, Inc. Her goal is to deliver her clients – and their families – the most compassionate, reliable, trustworthy and cost-efficient non-medical caregiving services that provide peace of mind and a trusted resource during the relationship. Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising from Middle Tennessee State University. She has spent over 24 years in the corporate world as a professional buyer for several national department stores.
Melanie’s second career in non-medical caregiving services was unexpectedly launched from her own journey of caring for her elderly parents. She has successfully applied her leadership, managerial, problem-solving and team-building skills – as well as her grace, compassion, and understanding – to caregiving for clients and their families since 2001. Melanie resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, with David, her husband of 31 years.
I remember caring for my elderly parents. As part of our routine, we would stroll the aisles at the grocery store and hear other parents say, my daughter will be in town. This resonated with me as no other name seemed more appropriate for a service born out of my own caregiving experiences.
~ Melanie Kimmel, Owner, My Daughter Is In Town, Inc.
There are only four kinds of people in the world. Those who have been caregivers. Those who are currently caregivers. Those who will be caregivers, and those who will need a caregiver.

Melanie Kimmel and her company have been the key to my 95-year-old mother’s health, happiness, and high-quality lifestyle, and I cannot imagine a life without Melanie in her life. Melanie’s company specializes in taking care of people across the entire spectrum of living. In my mother’s case, it was organizing her condo when she lived independently, driving her to appointments, helping mom keep track of bills, etc., keeping the entire family current on Mom’s health and attitude. Melanie even helped mom pack and prepare to travel when she visited her kids and grandkids. When it was time for Mom to move into assisted living, Melanie orchestrated the entire move…. and helped Mom successfully downsize and happily transition into the assisted living lifestyle. Melanie keeps the family informed of everything and gives us a weekly update on how mom is doing. We ask Melanie’s opinion on any subject pertaining to mom. It is priceless and rare to see a happy, engaged, and enthusiastic elderly person. My mom is just that person and I owe the deepest gratitude to Melanie and her company for making it all possible.

You and Rick were incredibly helpful for my brothers and me during the past year, I can’t thank you enough. Being several hundred miles away and trying to coordinate moving stuff in/out/back home/donate, would’ve been absolutely impossible without you. The service you offer is so valuable, I can’t say it enough how much we’re in debt to you both. The service you offer is so needed and appreciated during a difficult time of life. Thank you for what you do.

My Daughter is in Town, Inc., has been such a help with Mother, both when she moved out of her apartment to assisted living, and then from assisted living to the "health" center. Your guidance was invaluable and made things in the new living quarters much more attractive and personal both times. Since we live far from our parents, we really appreciate the help and service you provide, and it is a relief knowing there is someone we can call to fill in for us if we cannot get to Florida.

Melanie and the staff at My Daughter is in Town, Inc., have been a wonderful help to me caring for my husband when I am unable to take him with me to run errands, attend appointments, and during other personal needs. They truly are compassionate and personal while providing their non-medical care for a loved one. I have been with My Daughter is in Town, Inc., for several years and will continue to trust Melanie and her staff to provide worry-free services for myself and my husband. I consider them family!

For nearly 12 years, Melanie and her staff at My Daughter is in Town, Inc., have escorted my Mom to an innumerable amount of doctor and dental appointments as well as to the airport. Melanie coordinates the pick up and drop off times with the staff at my Mom's nursing home, and they treat her as part of their own team. Melanie selects, with the utmost care, who will escort Mom, considering her memory loss and fall risk, but more importantly, her personality. Outings always go smoothly with Melanie onboard, and Mom always enjoys the outing and the person who escorts her. Although my Mom struggles with her memory, she always remembers Melanie and says, "Oh that Melanie is special; she is like another daughter!"

For the last 8-10 years, Melanie and her company, My Daughter is in Town, Inc., have faithfully performed services for my stepmother at her assisted living facility. We also used their patient advocate services to drive my stepmother to medical appointments, and relay all medical information to my family as well as the assisted living facility staff. When my stepmother passed away, we inherited the task of cleaning out her apartment. Much to my joy, I learned that Melanie and her company also provided relocation management and moving services. Melanie Helped us sort out and find homes for all of my stepmother's personal items. She was an extremely patient worker and helpful in every way by offering to send packages, arrange for pickup from the Salvation Army, and answering our many questions. Essentially we left everything in Melanie's hands. I highly recommend Melanie and My Daughter is in Town, Inc., to help anyone during difficult times such as these.

Ms. Kimmel has taken great care in matching the specific needs of her clients with the particular skills of her staff. Her service is flexible and does not offer a set formula regarding hours, areas of assistance, or activities as each case is approached individually. As the client's health changes, adjustments in care are implemented. We have benefited from Ms. Kimmel's policy that each staff member – from the primary caregiver to the temporary substitute – receives specific training relevant to the client being served. Without a doubt, Mother would never have adjusted from her condition and regained joy in living without the personalized assistance given by Melanie Kimmel and the My Daughter is in Town, Inc. staff... they rescued us.

Over the several years during which I have utilized My Daughter is in Town's services, I have found Melanie Kimmel to be characterized by the following statements... when she commits herself to a job, she carries through – she's dependable... her idea of being "on time" is to be slightly early... she is a pleasant companion... and she's intelligent and can organize any project which might be assigned to her.

Living far away from my mom as she aged and needed more assistance was unsettling until I had the great fortune to meet Melanie Kimmel of My Daughter is in Town, Inc. To say she was and is a godsend is quite an understatement. Throughout several years, Melanie organized my mom's financial records, helped her navigate the medical and technical worlds, conferred with her about her bills and mail daily, and, most importantly, gained her trust so that my mom felt safe and secure. Melanie communicated with me and my siblings regularly and kept us aware of how my mom was doing physically and emotionally. She could not have been more professional or more warm – a balance that is not easy to achieve.
